Beyonce Heat

One of the things that you would look for in a fragrance released by a celebrity is that it should sell out when it reaches the shelves – and even before in many cases! Beyonce’s Heat did live up to those expectations and because of that, stores around the country were ecstatic. Coty, the manufacturer was probably thrilled as well because it should give new depth to their floundering celebrity line of fragrances. Although Heat is not a top shelf perfume, it is a big hit, a huge seller, and because of that it gets rave reviews.

However, there are experts in the field that say it’s a little too over the top in the first moments but settles down nicely after that. It is described as being a ‘warm fruity musk’ with a lot of peach overtones and unremarkable florals. The notes in Heat are red vanilla orchid, magnolia, neroli, blush peach, honeysuckle nectar, almond macaroon, crème de musk, sequoia milkwood, tonka bean and amber. After the first burst of fragrance it does settle down nicely, becoming much softer and easier to wear. The problem is, it stays too sweet for the tastes of many and perhaps could have been offset by vamping up the musky amber.

Something that reviewers are finding lacking is the lack of natural scents. It, in their eyes, is overly artificial yet that doesn’t seem to be a problem to consumers because Heat is a huge success and that’s what Coty was banking on! While the perfume itself may not be a sexy scent, if Beyonce is wearing it, then maybe that thought alone is enough to add a little subliminal sex appeal that can be called up when needed!
